Maritime Services

The course is specifically designed for security personnel looking for a career in both the executive and high risk protection sector. The Executive Close Protection Course is an internationally accredited and recognized course for Close Protection Operatives, whether they are working in Hostile Environments or in Executive Protection (VIP). This course also includes the international accredited trauma management qualification First Person on the Scene (FPOS-Level 1).

Diaplous instructors are former British Special Air Service (SAS) & Greek SEAL Team members with significant commercial experience operating in corporate executive protection and in hazardous, remote and challenging environments. The course includes two distinct elements, encompassing practical exercises and written examinations.

The course Syllabus includes:

  • Venue Based Security, Search Awareness
  • Operational Planning
  • Reconnaissance, Route Selection & Planning
  • Close Protection driving skills

  • Physical Intervention Training
  • First Person on Scene Medical Qualification (1 week additional).

Candidates will be assessed for practical and theoretical understanding of the key elements, and the course will be concluded with an International examination with Highfield Awarding Body.

The duration of the course is 3 weeks and it takes place at the Diaplous training Centre in Athens.

Diaplous Executive Protection Firearms qualification is specifically designed for protection officers who are permitted to carry firearms. The course instructors are former UK Special Air Service (SAS) officers with extensive operational experience in the tactical use of firearms;

The course syllabus includes:

  • Safety (Normal Safety Precautions; NSP’s)
  • Stripping, Assembly & Cleaning
  • Grip, Stance and Sight Alignment
  • Holstering/Draw
  • Load/Unload/stoppages (troubleshooting)
  • Firing (single shot/Double tap/rapid)
  • Multiple Targets
  • Firing positions & Movement

The duration of the course is 5 days.

This course focuses on the provision of effective trauma management in all environments, and particularly in hostile or tactical environments. This course is essential for personnel working as Close Protection Officers, Maritime Security, Private security and specialist agencies, both government and private agencies. This Course offers to the emergency responder an enhanced level of medical skill, and renders him or her capable to deal with a casualty in a trauma, or a medical emergency. This course covers all competencies required for certification, as well as training in tactical medical support, ballistic & blast injury, and also a systematic approach to the management of trauma. Training includes important subject areas such as multiple casualty management & triage, road traffic collision management and medical planning.

The duration of the course is 5 days, held at the Diaplous training centre.

This course is designed for personnel working as Executive Protection Officers, Chauffeurs or Security Drivers all who need to be highly skilled and knowledgeable on all aspects of driving including driver awareness, risk management, anti-hijacking manoeuvers and tactical driving skills.

The course includes development of skills such as: system of car control; observation; hazard awareness; surveillance awareness, search; Improvised Explosive Device awareness; convoy procedures; skid training; evasive maneuvers (hand brake turn/ J turns); anti-hijacking armored vehicle driving.

This course is specifically designed for personnel working as Maritime Security Operatives. This course is designed to prepare the student for work in the maritime security industry and it has been developed to provide an industry standard for field operatives in maritime security awareness and emergency response training. This qualification has become a mandatory requirement for all Diaplous Maritime Security Operatives.

The syllabus incudes:

  • Unit 1- Understand the Maritime Security Industry
  • Unit 2- Understand Maritime Pre-Deployment Planning & Procedures
  • Unit 3- Understand Maritime Security Operating Procedures
  • Unit 4- Understand Maritime Incident management & Post Operational Procedures

Assessment: Candidates will be assessed for practical and theoretical understanding of the key learning outcomes. This will culminate in the City & Guilds examination and also in a practical assessment.
